What changed on 5 March 2026?
Manchester introduced a numbered parking system as part of its airport transformation. Current signs, maps and newer confirmations use P-numbers from P1 to P16 alongside product names.
The numbering is a wayfinding system. It does not mean there are sixteen identical, consecutively available self-park facilities, and it is not a list of supplier booking codes.
The airport now operates passenger flights from T2 and T3: T2 for all airlines except Ryanair, T3 for Ryanair. Check your flight confirmation before matching a car park to a terminal.
Official old-name to P-number mapping
The table below transcribes the entries shown in the airport’s official renaming graphic at the review date. Where the airport’s current product listing differs, that is flagged rather than silently resolved.
| Number | Name in the official renaming table | Previous name | Use shown in that table |
|---|---|---|---|
| P1 | T2 Meet & Greet | T2 M&G | Pre-book |
| P2 | T2 Overnight | T2 Overnight | Turn up |
| P3 | T2 West Multi Storey | T2 West MSCP | Short stay: pre-book and turn up |
| P4 | T2 Park & Walk | T2 Park & Walk | Pre-book |
| P10 | Drop & Go Express, marked “Coming Soon” | T1 Meet & Greet | Pre-book |
| P12 | Mid Stay Multi Storey | T1 MSCP | Pre-book |
| P13 | T3 Meet & Greet | T3 Meet & Greet | Pre-book |
| P14 | T3 Multi Storey | T3 MSCP | Short stay: pre-book, turn up and pick-up |
| P15 | T3 Mid Stay | T1/T3 Mid Stay | Pre-book |
| P16 | Drop & Go | Drop & Go | Pre-book |
The official table reviewed here does not supply entries for P5–P9 or P11. This guide does not invent products or mappings to fill those gaps. Consult the current official map and the actual booking.
Two product-label inconsistencies to check
The current T2 product page labels P2 T2 Premium, while the renaming graphic says T2 Overnight. It also lists P10 Drop & Go Express even though the graphic still marks that product as coming soon.
These differences matter when deciding whether a product is bookable, suitable for a short visit or available on a turn-up basis. Use the current quote, confirmation and product-specific instructions; contact the airport or seller if they do not agree.
The table is useful for identifying an older name, but should not override a live operational instruction. Recheck the source before publication and again if a booking’s label changes.
If you already booked under an old name
Manchester says existing bookings remain valid after the name change. The confirmation may simply retain the previous wording.
- Find the product’s old name on the confirmation.
- Match it to the current P-number where the official table gives one.
- Confirm the terminal on the airline booking.
- Save the latest entrance map and arrival procedure.
- Ask the seller about any mismatch before driving.
Do not amend a supplier code manually or assume that a similarly named product is the same reservation. A public car park sign and an internal booking identifier serve different purposes.
Which numbers are relevant to a T2 trip?
P1, P3 and P4 are explicitly T2-named in the official table. P2 requires the label check described above. Other products can have their own terminal connection or vehicle-handover process.
For self-parking, compare the walking route, height limit and whether you keep the keys. For Meet & Greet or Drop & Go, compare the reception, inspection and return arrangements instead.
The detailed Manchester T2 parking guide is intended to cover that terminal decision once published. Until it is available, use the airport comparison page and current official source.
Which numbers are relevant to a T3 trip?
P13, P14 and P15 are explicitly T3-named. P12 carries the former T1 Multi Storey name and should be checked against the current route for the booked product.
For a Ryanair journey, confirm the T3 flight assignment and return arrangements. Do not use an old T1 label as an instruction to find a former passenger-terminal entrance.
Barrierless parking: P3 needs a separate check
The airport marks P3 as barrierless in its current information. A turn-up visitor may have a payment process after leaving rather than the familiar ticket-and-barrier arrangement.
Read the official notice and distinguish that process from a pre-booked stay. Check any payment deadline and registration requirements. This guide deliberately avoids quoting an unverified deadline that could change.
Match the product to the visit
| Your purpose | What to check in addition to the number |
|---|---|
| Short collection | Permitted pick-up use, waiting and payment |
| Several days self-parking | Full stay price, pedestrian route and height limit |
| Meet & Greet | Reception, key handling and vehicle storage |
| Drop & Go | Handover process and terminal connection |
| Reduced-mobility journey | Actual route, lifts, shuttle suitability and assistance |
Directions and accessibility
There is no single P1–P16 postcode. Use the exact entrance address and map on the current confirmation. Several products sit close enough together that a general airport destination is insufficient.
Check vehicle height, accessible spaces and the full route to the terminal. A lower P-number is not a measure of shorter walking distance or better accessibility.
Prices and availability
The numbering system does not establish a price ranking. Compare a fresh total for your entry and return times, and read cancellation and late-return conditions.
Do not assume every mapped facility is available to every traveller or on every date. A reference graphic can include a product whose current booking status needs checking.
Manchester P-number FAQs
Are there sixteen consecutive bookable car parks?
Do not infer that from the name of the scheme. The official table reviewed here lists ten entries and omits several numbers.
Is P3 the former T2 West Multi Storey?
Yes, that is the mapping shown by the airport.
What is P15?
The table labels it T3 Mid Stay, formerly T1/T3 Mid Stay.
Does a name change invalidate my booking?
The airport says existing bookings remain valid. Verify the current directions if the confirmation retains an old name.
Is a P-number the same as an APH or other supplier code?
No. It is an airport wayfinding identifier, not an instruction to rewrite a booking’s product code.
What should I do about P2 or P10?
Check the current product listing and confirmation because the airport’s general renaming graphic and T2 product page currently use differing labels or status information.
