Park & Ride is Heathrow’s current Long Stay name

Heathrow’s official Park & Ride is the product formerly called Long Stay. Older signs, confirmations and searches may still use Long Stay, so keep both names in mind when identifying the correct entrance.

It is an airport-operated shuttle product. It is not a collective name for every independent car park near Heathrow, and it is not the same as Priority Park & Ride, formerly Business Parking.

Terminal Official standard Park & Ride site Published postcode Journey planning
T2 Shared T2/T3 site, Eastern Perimeter Road TW6 2SB Shuttle to T2; use the correct return stop
T3 Shared T2/T3 site, Eastern Perimeter Road TW6 2SB Shuttle to T3, not T2 by assumption
T4 Scylla Road, Southern Perimeter Road TW6 3XL Check Zone A redevelopment arrangements separately
T5 Northern Perimeter Road TW6 2RL Different site from T2/T3 and from Pod Parking

How the shuttle changes the journey

The time from parking to airline check-in includes more than the bus ride. Allow for finding a bay, unloading, walking to a stop, waiting, boarding and reaching the appropriate part of the terminal.

Heathrow describes regular free shuttles, commonly every fifteen minutes. Its different pages give differing in-vehicle estimates by terminal. For planning, use the current terminal-specific instructions and leave a margin rather than treating a shortest advertised transfer as a guaranteed total.

Check arrangements outside the standard stated operating period, particularly for very early departures or late returns. Do not assume a daytime frequency applies throughout the night.

T2 and T3: shared site, different terminal stops

The standard T2/T3 Park & Ride address is Eastern Perimeter Road, TW6 2SB. Confirm which terminal you need before boarding.

On return, check the stop for the standard Park & Ride service. Do not confuse it with a similarly named Priority product or an independent operator’s shuttle.

The shared T2/T3 Priority facility is currently closed to passengers according to its dedicated page. That does not mean the standard Park & Ride site is closed. An older Business Parking booking needs seller-specific instructions.

T5: do not confuse three different products

T5 has standard Park & Ride, Priority Park & Ride and Pod Parking. They use different arrangements and, where applicable, different entrances.

Standard Park & Ride uses a bus. Priority uses its own shuttle service. Pod Parking uses driverless electric Pods. A booking for one is not permission to arrive at another because all three are near the perimeter roads.

For a wider comparison, use the terminal-specific guide once published and compare the actual stay total, cancellation terms and return procedure.

T4: a redevelopment exception

T4’s multi-storey closed on 23 June 2026. Heathrow’s changes page describes replacement arrangements in Park & Ride Zone A, including a specific two-hour free period.

That exception should not be generalised to every Park & Ride zone or terminal. Zones B, C and D and pre-booked longer stays have their own instructions.

Recheck the current Zone A shuttle timetable and assisted-service arrangements. The redevelopment notice contains differing journey estimates, so a fixed transfer promise would be misleading.

Free short visits: use the current limit

Heathrow’s passenger pick-up page states that the first 29 minutes of a standard drive-up Park & Ride visit are free. Some general wording still says “up to 30 minutes”. Use the stricter limit and follow the current signs.

This is not free parking for a day or a holiday. The clock runs while you wait in the car park, and the passenger may need a shuttle in either direction. Check subsequent charging bands and any re-entry restriction.

Eligible Blue Badge holders have a separately described concession with an intercom process. Verify the current entitlement and procedure rather than assuming it applies automatically.

Pick-up and drop-off from Park & Ride

For a collection, the passenger uses the shuttle to reach the car park. Agree the terminal, stop and contact plan before you enter.

For a lower-cost drop-off, the passenger must allow time to travel from the parking site to the terminal. Consider luggage, children, assistance and the shuttle wait. The free limit should not become a reason to rush unsafely.

Terminal forecourt drop-off and Terminal Parking are different products with their own charges and rules.

Longer-stay prices and booking terms

Compare a fresh quote for the exact entry and return times. Do not use the free short-visit band or a daily drive-up headline as a weekly holiday price.

Read cancellation, amendment, vehicle and delayed-return conditions for the booked rate. A familiar product name does not establish that every seller offers identical terms.

Accessibility and practical directions

Confirm accessible bays, shuttle boarding and assistance before booking if these affect the passenger. A bay near a stop does not itself establish that a particular transfer will meet every need.

Use the terminal-specific site postcode and current entrance map. Photograph the parking zone, row and nearest bus stop. Keep the return instructions offline so that a flat phone signal does not make the journey harder.

Heathrow Park & Ride FAQs

Is Long Stay still a valid search term?

Yes. It is the former name for the official standard Park & Ride product and may remain on signs or confirmations.

Are all terminals served from one site?

No. T2/T3 share a site, while T4 and T5 have separate locations.

Is Priority the same as standard Park & Ride?

No. It is the former Business product, with different arrangements and a current T2/T3 closure.

Are the first thirty minutes always free?

The current passenger pick-up wording states 29 minutes. Check signs and use the stricter limit rather than an older rounded description.

Can I walk instead of using the shuttle?

Plan around the official transfer service and current directions, not an assumed pedestrian route around the airport perimeter.

Can I park free in Zone A for a holiday?

No. The T4 short-visit concession is limited and subject to current conditions.
