Terminal 3 parking: the important distinctions
At T3, the practical choice is between a terminal-near walk, a standard Park & Ride transfer, an off-site transfer, or a vehicle-handover service. The former Business Parking product must not be treated as an available shortcut: the shared T2/T3 Priority Park & Ride facility is currently closed to passengers.
Heathrow’s general T3 page still describes Priority Park & Ride among the options. Its dedicated product page carries the closure notice and says new bookings and drive-up stays are not possible. For an operational decision, check that specific notice rather than relying on a general list of products.
| Option | Terminal access | When to consider it | Key check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terminal Parking, formerly Short Stay | Covered pedestrian route | Short visits and travellers wanting to avoid a bus | Car Park 3 versus any separately directed facility |
| Park & Ride, formerly Long Stay | Free shuttle | Longer trips where a transfer is acceptable | Shared T2/T3 site and the correct return stop |
| Priority Park & Ride, formerly Business | Currently closed to passengers | Do not plan a new T3 stay around it | Dedicated closure notice |
| Official Meet & Greet | Handover at designated reception | Travellers wanting less parking-space searching | Follow the booking’s reception and level |
| Official Valet | Designated terminal-forecourt handover | Travellers comparing a premium arrival service | Not the same entrance as self-parking |
| Independent off-site parking | Operator-specific transfer or handover | Comparing alternative prices and services | Storage site, terminal served and extra charges |
Terminal 3 Terminal Parking: formerly Short Stay
Terminal Parking is the short-walk choice for T3. Heathrow’s directions page describes the main Car Park 3 route as approximately five minutes via a covered walkway. Actual walking time depends on your bay, luggage, lifts and destination inside the terminal.
The main Car Park 3 postcode is TW6 1QG. Heathrow also lists a separate T3 Car Park 1A facility with different directions. Do not select it merely because it mentions T3; follow the exact parking product or collection instructions you are using.
For a short collection, a terminal-near car park lets you leave the vehicle and meet someone in the building. For several days away, compare a pre-booked total rather than relying on the first hourly charging band.
What does a short T3 visit cost?
Heathrow’s published drive-up table at the 3 November 2026 review showed:
| Duration | Published Terminal Parking drive-up rate |
|---|---|
| 0–29 minutes | £8.50 |
| 30–44 minutes | £12.50 |
| 45–59 minutes | £16.00 |
These bands are a dated reference, not a fixed quote for future travel. Check the current tariff before entering. Do not assume a 29-minute parking window is enough for a flight that has only just landed.
Terminal 3 Park & Ride: formerly Long Stay
T3 uses the Terminals 2 & 3 Park & Ride site on Eastern Perimeter Road, TW6 2SB. This is not the same address as Car Park 3 and is not the closed Priority Park & Ride facility.
You park and take the free bus to the terminal. Heathrow’s directions describe an approximately 15-minute transfer, with buses normally every 15 minutes during the stated operating period. Add waiting and loading to the in-vehicle journey, and reconfirm arrangements for an early or late flight.
On return, follow the current T3 Park & Ride bus-stop instructions. Heathrow’s directions page identifies Bus Stop 16 for the return from T3, but operational stop assignments can change; compare the sign and your confirmation before joining a queue.
For a longer trip, this is a useful baseline against which to compare a terminal-near price or off-site offer. Check the total stay price, key-handling arrangements, cancellation terms and any late-return charge.
Why you should not book around the former Business Parking
The current name for Business Parking is Priority Park & Ride. The dedicated T3 product page states that the T2/T3 car park is closed to passengers, with affected customers contacted about alternatives.
This is a product-specific restriction, not a statement that all Heathrow parking is closed. Standard Park & Ride, Terminal Parking and other relevant products should be checked separately. T5’s Priority product is also not a substitute you can assume serves T3 under the same booking.
If you have an older confirmation mentioning Business Parking, contact the seller or Heathrow about the actual replacement arrangement. Do not arrive at a closed entrance because an old postcode still appears in a mapping service.
Meet & Greet at Terminal 3
Heathrow’s official Meet & Greet directions use a dedicated reception within Terminal Parking. The current official T3 instructions identify a specified level and signed reception, rather than asking you to stop at any convenient kerb.
The useful comparison is not just “meet and greet versus bus”. Ask who receives the vehicle, where it is stored, whether it can be moved, what arrival notice is required and what happens if your return flight changes. A third-party product can have different procedures from Heathrow’s own service.
This choice may reduce the need to search for a self-park bay, but it does not remove check-in time or all walking. Keep the confirmation and emergency contact details available offline.
Valet parking at T3
Heathrow’s official Valet is a forecourt handover service. Follow the service’s designated lane and reception; the fact that a vehicle is booked for Valet does not make every forecourt stopping place appropriate.
Compare Valet with Meet & Greet on the exact arrival and collection process. A similar price or marketing description does not establish that the services use the same handover point. Check vehicle restrictions and cancellation terms for the actual quote.
Off-site parking near T3
Independent parking can involve a shuttle from a separate storage site or an arranged terminal handover. Confirm that the quoted product serves T3 in both directions, including any late-night return.
Transfer claims often describe the drive only. Ask whether waiting, passenger fares, terminal access charges and luggage restrictions are included. For a fuller cost checklist, use our Heathrow off-site parking guide.
Check the specific site’s current security arrangements rather than assuming a familiar brand accredits every location. If you need an accessible transfer, establish that before committing to a non-refundable rate.
T3 directions: use the parking address, not just the terminal
| Destination | Routing reference | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Main T3 Terminal Parking, Car Park 3 | TW6 1QG | Walk-to-terminal self-parking |
| T2/T3 standard Park & Ride | TW6 2SB, Eastern Perimeter Road | Shuttle-based parking |
| Official Meet & Greet | Booking-specific reception in Terminal Parking | Requires the correct reception and level |
| Official Valet | Booking-specific T3 forecourt directions | Different from self-parking |
| Independent operator | Address on that operator’s confirmation | Not necessarily an airport-owned site |
The M4 approach uses the airport spur and tunnel for the central terminals; the M25 approach joins the relevant Heathrow route. Follow current signs for your product. Perimeter parking and central-terminal parking branch before the final entrance.
Dropping off and collecting at Terminal 3
Do not use the departure forecourt for an ordinary pick-up. A parked collection generally means Terminal Parking or the short-visit arrangement at Park & Ride.
Heathrow’s passenger pick-up page states that the first 29 minutes in Park & Ride are free for a drive-up visit. Include the passenger’s bus time within your plan and read the current charging bands. Terminal drop-off is a different charged arrangement with its own payment requirements.
If you want to wait inside arrivals, allow for immigration, bags and the walk back to the vehicle. A flight delay can turn a short expected visit into a longer paid stay; choose the collection arrangement accordingly.
Accessibility and Blue Badge checks
Heathrow lists accessible spaces in the T3 Terminal Parking facility near the lobby and at Park & Ride near the relevant bus-access area. Check whether the route, lift and vehicle-height restrictions suit your particular needs.
For a bus transfer, confirm wheelchair and assistance arrangements rather than inferring them from the existence of Blue Badge bays. Heathrow publishes a separate Park & Ride concession for eligible Blue Badge holders with an intercom process; verify the current conditions before relying on it.
Arrange airline or terminal special assistance separately. A car park booking does not itself tell the airline what support you require.
Which T3 option should you compare first?
| Situation | Starting point | Do not overlook |
|---|---|---|
| Brief collection inside arrivals | Terminal Parking | The passenger may not be ready at landing time |
| Longer trip with room for a bus | Standard Park & Ride | Waiting time and return stop |
| Lots of luggage or a handover preference | Meet & Greet or Valet | Operator, reception and storage arrangements |
| Older Business Parking booking | Contact the seller | The T2/T3 Priority closure |
| A tightly constrained mobility requirement | Confirm assistance first | The full bay-to-terminal route |
Practical T3 checks before departure
- Confirm T3 on the airline booking, not just “London Heathrow”.
- Save the current product name alongside any former name.
- Check the entrance address and any arrival-call requirement.
- Photograph or note the self-park bay and level.
- Keep the seller’s delayed-return instructions available.
- Compare a fresh total for your actual return time.
Heathrow Terminal 3 parking FAQs
What is the T3 Terminal Parking postcode?
The main Terminal Parking Car Park 3 uses TW6 1QG. Use the exact instructions for any differently named T3 facility.
Is Terminal 3 Business Parking open?
The dedicated Heathrow page currently says the shared T2/T3 Priority Park & Ride, formerly Business Parking, is closed to passengers. Recheck it before travel.
Can I walk from T3 Park & Ride?
Plan to use its free shuttle, not a pedestrian route from the perimeter. The terminal-near walking option is Terminal Parking.
Is T3 Long Stay the same as Park & Ride?
Yes, Park & Ride is Heathrow’s current name for its official former Long Stay product. Do not confuse it with independent off-site parking.
Where should I pick up a passenger?
Use the appropriate parking facility. Ordinary forecourt pick-up is not permitted.
Can I use the T5 Priority car park for a T3 booking?
Do not assume so. T5 is a different terminal and product; contact the seller about an authorised alternative.
Are the displayed short-visit prices holiday-parking rates?
No. Drive-up time bands are separate from pre-booked trip quotes.
What if the flight returns to another terminal?
Ask the operator how the return transfer or vehicle collection will work before booking or amending the stay.
