T4 parking after the multi-storey closure

Heathrow’s Terminal 4 multi-storey closed on 23 June 2026 for redevelopment. Do not follow an older Short Stay or Terminal Parking guide as if the old facility were still operating normally.

The current official changes page distinguishes Park & Ride Zone A, the other Park & Ride zones and a charged Priority Pick-Up area outside arrivals. They are different arrangements with different purposes.

Arrangement Current purpose described by Heathrow Main check
Former T4 Terminal Parking multi-storey Closed Do not plan to park there
Park & Ride Zone A Replacement passenger-parking and short-visit arrangements Current free period, shuttle and assistance
Park & Ride zones B, C and D Continuing Park & Ride operations Booked product and zone
Priority Pick-Up Quick arrivals collection Charges apply; vehicle must not be left unattended
Terminal drop-off Permitted departures set-down Separate drop-off payment and rules

Zone A: what has moved?

Heathrow says passenger parking affected by the closure has moved to Zone A of T4 Park & Ride. Its changes page describes up to two hours free only in Zone A, followed by standard Park & Ride drive-up prices.

This is not permission to leave a car free for a holiday, and it should not be applied indiscriminately to other Heathrow terminals or parking zones. Read the current entrance signs and official notice before using the concession.

If you have an existing parking booking, use the instructions Heathrow or the seller has supplied for that reservation. Do not assume the concession changes the booked product or lets you choose any zone.

Shuttle arrangements need a current check

The official redevelopment page describes frequent Zone A shuttles, while different sections give differing journey estimates. Some text describes a six-minute transfer; other information describes about ten minutes.

For that reason, this guide does not promise a fixed door-to-door time. Reconfirm the current timetable, stop and operating hours immediately before travel. Include waiting, loading, the bus journey and the walk into the terminal.

A traveller with an early or late flight should establish what happens outside the advertised standard service period rather than assuming buses run in the same way throughout the night.

Standard T4 Park & Ride

The current Park & Ride address is Scylla Road, Southern Perimeter Road, TW6 3XL. Follow your zone-specific confirmation rather than treating the postcode as a complete instruction.

Heathrow describes zones B, C and D as continuing normal Park & Ride operations. For a longer trip, compare the booked price, transfer process and cancellation terms of the actual product.

The T4 site is distinct from the T2/T3 and T5 Park & Ride locations. A similar product name does not make the entrances interchangeable.

Priority Pick-Up outside arrivals

T4 has a specific Priority Pick-Up arrangement for quick collections. Charges apply, and Heathrow says vehicles must not be left unattended.

If you want to go inside and wait, do not assume this is the right place. Read the current Zone A parking arrangement instead and plan the passenger’s shuttle journey.

Timing matters: a passenger who has landed may still be waiting for bags or assistance. Agree how you will communicate before entering a paid quick-collection area.

Drop-off versus pick-up

Heathrow’s changes page says terminal drop-offs continue, but arrivals collection has its own lanes and conditions. Follow current signs for the intended use rather than copying a previous journey.

A terminal drop-off payment is not automatically payment for Priority Pick-Up or Park & Ride. Check each charge and payment method separately.

Accessibility and assisted services

Heathrow’s redevelopment information describes an Assisted Services Hub in Zone A, with support for passengers transferring to T4. Confirm the current service, contact procedure and suitability for your mobility needs before travelling.

Discuss the full route: where you park, where assistance begins, how equipment is carried and where the passenger reaches the terminal. Arrange airline special assistance separately.

Do not treat an older accessible bay location inside the closed multi-storey as a current instruction.

Which T4 arrangement fits your visit?

Purpose Start with Important distinction
Park and accompany someone inside Current Zone A information Allow for the shuttle
Brief collection with passenger ready Priority Pick-Up rules Chargeable and unattended vehicles prohibited
Longer pre-booked trip Product-specific Park & Ride instructions Confirm the zone and return process
Passenger needing assistance Zone A Assisted Services information Arrange support before arrival
Departures set-down Current terminal drop-off signs Different from arrivals collection

Practical T4 checklist

Read the redevelopment notice again near your travel date. Save the current entrance and zone, not an old multi-storey map. Confirm the shuttle arrangements and any assistance. Keep the booking seller’s contact details available if an older confirmation conflicts with the current route.

Heathrow T4 parking FAQs

Is T4 Short Stay still open?

The former multi-storey closed on 23 June 2026. Use current redevelopment information for the replacement arrangements.

Are two hours free everywhere at T4?

No. Heathrow’s published exception is specifically for Zone A, subject to its current conditions.

Can I leave my car at Priority Pick-Up?

Heathrow says vehicles there must not be left unattended. Use an appropriate parking facility if you need to go inside.

Is Zone A the same as my booked Park & Ride zone?

Not necessarily. Read the reservation and current directions.

What is the T4 Park & Ride postcode?

The official directions list TW6 3XL on Scylla Road. Follow the instructions for the required zone.

Why is the shuttle time not stated as an exact promise?

The official redevelopment information contains differing estimates. Recheck the actual service and leave a margin.
